Haakon Ellingsen has been around the block on the Norwegian music scene, most notably in The Last James and in collaborations with When's Lars Pedersen. In his solo career Haakon focuses on sunny-sad,
resplendent pop tunes somewhere between baroque pop, folk-rock and psychedelia. Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Nick Drake and The Left Banke all pop up as musical signposts along the way. Both of Haakon's albums so
far are beautifully produced and arranged affairs, with strings, flutes and vintage keyboards fleshing out the sound.
